I dunno if this is intended, but the "top" perk (the one that makes it so all top cards are reactivated when the eye is activated) makes it so when the eye is on the top this creates an infinite reactivation loop, which is only stopped by what I assume is some emergency depth recursion limit.

(It might turn out this isn't a bug at all and everyone might tune in with all the other ways to get infinite reactivation loops, but I feel like relying on a depth recursion limit to keep the game playable is a little dodgy)

I totally agree with you. That limit is a bit of a band-aid right now, while we figure out that 'right' way to handle infinite loops like that. Any suggestions? My instinct is to limit Eyes and things that react to eyes to just one activation per turn, but that feels slightly disappointing.

I agree that that does feel slightly underwhelming, but then again, probably most rational solutions to this problem are going to feel slightly underwhelming...

One idea I had, though this is definitely quite an ambitious idea, would be for each card to have a quantity called "fragility" associated with it. This could be like a really big number like 500 or something, and it would be physically on the card so the user could see it while they were playing, then every time the card gets activated the number goes down by 1, and then when it gets to 0 it could remove the card, and potentially even trigger some other event like a reward/punishment for the user.

I like the idea of the user playing the game normally thinking "I wonder what happens when that big number gets to zero", I think it adds some additional intrigue.

Then again, I imagine it would be a hefty amount of work to implement. If I could change something small about the game though, something that shouldn't amount to that much work, it would be good if you limited the maximum number of casino chips so the game would stop worrying about them when you got too many. Like I really like the casino chips don't get me wrong, but when you have like a bajillion of them they block the rest of the UI and I think I'm right in the guess that they're responsible for most of the lag when you start making the big bucks.

Like Icarus, you flew too close to the sun.

(+1)

Wait so is this a game of chance or is there a way to differ the bad from the good cards

Yes!

Oooohhh, just an idea but like could there be a way to differ them but the bad cards have an ever so slightly difference like a misspelled letter?(not forcing just an idea sorry!)

took me a minute re learn how to play, but really enjoyed this in the end.

The thrill of getting a good run when the cash starts piling up, very nice!

(+2)(-1)

I loved this, reminds me of arsonate and balatro, definitely worth the 2 hours of my time it took for me to win.

(+1)(-1)

I enjoyed this

I absolutely love the game. My only issue is that there are so many things in the game that I just don't know what they do or what they mean.

ADD MORE GAMBLING

Cool concept :) I was entering the 99mg room, and suddently I got out of time, not sure what controls time.

(+1)

Time advances by one minute every time you make a move or enter a room.

oh boy more mascot horror

Make this game less about gambling (

Several terms redirect here. For other uses, see Gamble (disambiguation)Gambler (disambiguation)Betting (disambiguation), and Bets (disambiguation).

Gambling (also known as betting or gaming) is the wagering of something of value ("the stakes") on a random event with the intent of winning something else of value, where instances of strategy are discounted. Gambling thus requires three elements to be present: consideration (an amount wagered), risk (chance), and a prize.[1] The outcome of the wager is often immediate, such as a single roll of dice, a spin of a roulette wheel, or a horse crossing the finish line, but longer time frames are also common, allowing wagers on the outcome of a future sports contest or even an entire sports season.

The term "gaming"[2] in this context typically refers to instances in which the activity has been specifically permitted by law. The two words are not mutually exclusive; i.e., a "gaming" company offers (legal) "gambling" activities to the public[3] and may be regulated by one of many gaming control boards, for example, the Nevada Gaming Control Board. However, this distinction is not universally observed in the English-speaking world. For instance, in the United Kingdom, the regulator of gambling activities is called the Gambling Commission (not the Gaming Commission).[4] The word gaming is used more frequently since the rise of computer and video games to describe activities that do not necessarily involve wagering, especially online gaming, with the new usage still not having displaced the old usage as the primary definition in common dictionaries. "Gaming" has also been used euphemistically to circumvent laws against "gambling". The media and others have used one term or the other to frame conversations around the subjects, resulting in a shift of perceptions among their audiences.[5]

And more about laughter (for being part of a group—it signals acceptance and positive interactions with others. Laughter is sometimes seen as contagious and the laughter of one person can itself provoke laughter from others as a positive feedback.[4][5][6][7]

The study of humor and laughter, and its psychological and physiological effects on the human body, is called gelotology.)

Bro, why are you deciding what he can or cant make, this (I think this is released in America) where he has freedom of choice to make whatever he wants, so please, let this dude be. He made a cool game that is his not yours. You don't get to decide what he posts or not

(+4)

Did you consider that maybe the combination of gambling as a theme, references to medication and side effects, the horror-adjacent presentation of the game and the unease associated with it, and the framing device of this being a card game played against "your boss", are all deliberate choices made to get the player thinking about the game in a certain way?

(+1)(-1)

Fun little game

(+1)

The whole roguelike element in this reminds me a lot of one of your older games. I like it, and I look forward to whatever else you may make.

(+4)

I hate to insult my boss, but he looks like a muppet-

(+1)

Really cool game! One question, does the blank card do anything secret or is it a bug?

(+3)

Thank you! The blank perk is just blank. It is working exactly as intended.

(+3)

Blank card takes up a slot, and accumulates value from some perks.

I've spent the last four hours playing this game, and I absolutely love it!  I finally managed to escape after a good 10 losses. Can't wait to see what's in store for this game!

I'm glad you're enjoying it! I'm excited to post more updates :)

(+2)

I thought that If you waited a long time you would get a jump scare.

(+1)

There may or may not be jumpscares in the future ...

(+2)
I thought the game was harmless!
(+3)

Very addictive and fun, although it could use a leaderboard. Also I was half-expecting a jumpscare to happen at any moment.

(+1)

Glad you're enjoying it! Interesting idea ...

(+1)

ohno...

(+2)

This was such an interesting game! Such a simple concept but a very addictive one! Would love to see this get expanded upon! Can't wait to see what the future holds for this game!

Thanks for playing Ash! It was fun to see you do the "one more run" thing :)

No problem at all! This was a fun game! I plan on playing again! I'll be doing plenty of my 'one more run' saying LOL!

(+2)

Look forward to seeing what more you do with this game! Had a blast with it!

Thanks for playing! Even though you were tired you still picked up a lot of details

That's the secret, I'm always tired. Lol. But an unintentional 24+ Hour day when I recorded this one, still loved every moment of it, and look forward to seeing where it goes! I'll be returning to it when I'm less tired :)

(+4)

seconds before the game closes 😂

5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

You flew too close to the sun!

Lol, nice! You definitely broke it 😂

Loading bar keeps getting stuck before it reaches full, any tips?

Maybe try downloading the windows version?

(+2)

This was fun! I exited on the second round but with a different strategy than I had planned on the end of my first. There's definitely a lot of interesting combinations and synergies to be found.

If you care for unsolicited feedback, (otherwise just ignore) maybe a sort of ascension system by which you can adjust the difficulty for subsequent runs would be great.

(+1)

An ascension system is definitely... in the cards 😎

no soy de comentar, pero este juego es increíblemente adictivo, como tengo un ingles muy básico me costo entender lo de las cartas, pero es genial que no tenga instrucciones 100/10

Thank you for playing!

(+2)

exited at 22:50! nice game

That's a pretty good time!

(1 edit) (+2)

I've seen some people post some high scores, but I think this crushes them all as the program reached the maximum bounds error and had a popup with a huge stack trace. This number isn't even the final number ... it went from x30 to x12937850 in a millisecond and then crashed. I can only imagine what number it would have ended at.

Lol nice build, you definitely broke it!

(+1)

Very fun!
It took me forever to figure out what * meant.  I did eventually test it and then got an amazing card engine to win the game.

Good point, just now pushing an update that will make this wording more clear (it used to be called a different thing until right near the end of development and I forgot to change the text to match)

(+1)

Very fun!

Yeah that one was confusing, I just pushed a build that fixes it!

this is very addictive! very entertaining!

Thank you! Glad you're enjoying it :)

(+2)

I broke it.

Fun game!

(+1)

how

lol

Lol nice

(+2)

Great card game, really like this concept of deck building kinda, I didnt really get the meaning of time or why should I rewind it, also some descriptions of the perks were not so understandable, so I had to figure it out while playing what it does, but I had a lots of fun playing it :)

Just pushed a build with clearer perk descriptions. Thanks for the feedback!
